Tonight, an update on the survey progress. We are already at 78% completed (100/128!) and still have a week left until our estimated lock date. We were very surprised to see so many people respond so quickly, so thank you all! If you have not filled out your survey yet, that's ok! Just to once again clarify, you are NOT being charged shipping fees right now unless you are planning on paying with Paypal. Paypal immediately charges you. If you set up your credit card/banking info with Stripe, that is not charged until we charge all the cards sometime in the next two weeks. Once we lock the surveys, meaning that we feel that all of the responders that will or need to respond have done so, we will close the process. No further changes will be able to be made to your surveys after that time. Currently, even if you filled out the survey, you can return to it at any time and make changes to your order, shipping, etc. After we lock the orders, we'll give you a warning about when we intend to charge the cards. We estimate 3-5 days after locking surveys. If all goes well, about a week after charging the cards, we will begin shipping the books!
And of course, if it was not clear, if you are getting something physical, like a book or art print, we need you to fill out the survey in order to give us an address to ship it/them to.
Digital Reward Only and Non-Reward Backers
A small not-so-secret secret: If your pledge does not contain any items that have to be shipped to a physical address, you don't actually have to do the survey. We would still highly encourage you to do so though because it will at least verify your email address for when the digital rewards are sent out. Further, the survey gives you access to all of the kickstarter rewards in the case that you might decide to add more stuff. Only got a pdf during the campaign but now want a physical book? Easy! Just come to the survey.

News on the Next Project
The next book is getting ready for Kickstarter! This will be for our second release, Warrens of the Great Goblin Chief. This game module was published originally in 2010 and I think of all of our books, we got the most feedback on this particular story from people that ran it or played it. This reprinting will be heavily revised from the original though. After a decade of running it myself and getting feedback, some changes are necessary. More on that when the project is close to release though. We'll post the pre-launch page link to all backers when the page is ready to go.
BUT! We won't begin the new campaign until people start getting their Watchtower books. We feel that it's important for you to see/hold the book you just campaigned for before deciding whether or not to back the next one. Of course, we hope we'll see all of you again for the next book :) The new campaign should launch by mid- to late August and will progress with pretty much the same duration and time to print/ship as the Watchtower (~2 months from campaign start to book-in-hand).
Increased Funding Tiers
Oh! We got a few small messages about the Increased Funding Tier add-ons. These funding tiers will get your name printed in the book. We're still adding names until we lock surveys. For example, for an extra $5, you could become immortalized in Watchtower on the Hill... and such an honor might have additional as-of-yet unexplained future benefits as well (??!). Adding these tiers is still an option through the survey process, even if you have already completed your survey.
The only campaign tier reward that is no longer available is being added to the book as a character, and that is because we have already finished writing the book with the additional character(s) added from campaign backers. We're very excited about the addition that we did receive, but we don't want to say anything further and spoil the surprise of discovering these additions on your own.

We got most of the smoke test surveys back with no problems and discovered some things about Paypal in the process (lol). I'm giving the rest of the surveys the green light and sending them out shortly. As I said, we'll put a 2 week-ish deadline on them for August 1st but if we have several stragglers this can be extended. We're just in a small rush to get the book to the printer because with printing in the age of Covid, we have only a small window to get them in and printed to fit our delivery timeframe or we'll have to wait a few extra months (nobody wants that!)
Again, you will select your shipping and payment method in the survey but you will not be charged until we charge the cards sometime after August 1st - unless you are paying with paypal which charges immediately.
IMPORTANT ADDENDUM: We just sent out the surveys and some of you have already responded, which is wonderful. One thing that we did not expect was that if you had over-pledged in Kickstarter, you will have a credit on Backerkit for that amount. We did not realize that this is how over-pledges worked. Several of our backers had given us extra money to see the project happen without any expectation of a reward (or additional rewards). Well, if you have a credit because of over-pledging, use it! Extra books, art prints, increased funding tier (name printed in the book), that's all good. You paid, we'll send you something for it, if you wish. We are also perfectly fine with you not using the credit. Be aware that if you finish the survey with additional credit, it is not refunded - just want to be clear on that - it just means that the credit is not used but we still have your funding. Game on.
Other Updates
We got all the shipping materials in this week and made sure the books fit the mailers. Looks good. Also got a new label printer and some other specialty office supplies. We also ordered the 8x10 prints and we should get those by midweek next week. We ordered extras in case we get more orders from the survey (already got a couple!!).
