Just a few quick mid-week updates on Watchtower on the Hill for everyone.
Added Content
One backer pledged to have themselves added into the book (thanks!). His ideas were fantastic and an entirely new NPC encounter has now been added to the Watchtower's storyline. It's a quick scene, but could be very important to a party and I think it's a great scene not only for novice players but for novice GM's as a form of adventurer mentoring. You'll love it when you see it.
Editing, Proofing, and Layout
At this stage, pending final art placement, I can say that the layout and basic editing is about 97% complete. Once everything is set, I'll send the pre-final manuscript to Nick for proofing and (real) editing. Just about done!
Art
Illustrations are rolling in and all looks well. We are only currently waiting on a few inks but all sketches have been seen and approved so far. Everything should be good to go by the time we need to send our manuscript to the printer.
Shipping Costs
USPS increased their shipping rates late last week - but not to worry - those changes do not affect anyone's shipping cost estimates. Everything remains as originally estimated and should be the same next week when the surveys go out.
Surveys (and paying for shipping)
The surveys are ready to go, we are just waiting on KS funds to transfer and BackerKit to approve us. We estimate that you should see surveys over the weekend or early next week after we do the "smoke test" (more on that later). We are going to place a 3 week period on filling out the surveys. If anyone has any problems, message us and we can work something out. Remember that anyone receiving physical books or prints will need to pay shipping costs in the survey. This is why we are giving surveys some time. You can also change your pledge and even add things to your pledge at that time, if you like.
Pre-Order Store
The Pre-Order store is open in case anyone missed out on the campaign and still would like to at least get a copy of the book. KS exclusive pledges are not in the store because, you know, exclusive. We have it scheduled for closure on August 10th, which is our latest planned printing date for the Watchtower. This date could change at any time though. The final date all depends on when we are ready to have the book printed for shipping.

During the campaign, we got a bit slammed with various things in the real world and got behind on our business development. In case anyone missed the Kickstarter campaign, you can now jump in and pre-order physical or PDF copies of the book in the Late Pledge/Pre-Order Store!! A few KS exclusive options are not available, such as increased funding tiers, but if you want the book, you can get it now! The Late-Pledge store will only be open until we ship the books, estimated to be around August 10th.

If you backed the KS campaign, you do not need to use the late-pledge store. When you get your survey next week, there will be options to add additional copies of books or anything else from the campaign. If you were an early-bird backer and wanted additional books, you can still order additional copies at the early-bird rates through your survey. So backers, just sit back, relax, and wait for that golden survey to arrive! ...and spread the word about the late-pledge store to those that might have missed it!
